This standard defines the size and location of the image area common to both Canadian P4 and ISO A4 sizes of paper.

This common image area is intended to facilitate the design and exchange of documents. It permits the alignment of trade documents or of other documents, and allows the material contained within the image area to be reproduced from either size of paper onto the other without loss of essential information.
